There are two kinds of leaders; those who attract followers and those who attract other leaders. Those who team up only with followers will only be able to go as far as they can personally supervise, as followers always need direct attention. Leaders who attract followers usually need to be needed... want the overall recognition for themselves ..... and focus on the follower's weaknesses instead of strengths. Leaders who want to multiply their success .... focus on others strengths and look to empower them...... invest their time in nurturing and equipping potential leaders to be all they can be to, and look not just to benefit the leader. In the long run effective leaders understand that they can only lead those whose leadership ability is equal to or less than their own and invest their time to keep growing, developing and reaching new heights in their own leadership ability so they are a leading light to others.
