I am grateful for the passion, ability, desire and determination to be a second miler. When we think about the second mile, we often forget there are two miles in place. The first is expected. The second is a miracle mile. In today's society many are looking for ways to circumvent the first mile with technology, short cuts and diminished expectations.... never putting their full energy into it. Who introduced the second mile? It was actually our earliest example of servant leadership. In Matthew 5:41 Jesus is recorded as saying "Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two". Have you quit on mile one? Possibly you are looking for ways to make mile one shorter, to take less time or do less to finish it? Here's the deal - the miracle is not in the first mile. If you are compelled to quit or circumvent the first mile you abdicate the opportunity to live in, receive or be someones miracle. I hope to see you on the second mile!
