Working The Room

I appreciate the opportunity to live out a life that adds value to others. What's that look like .... to me it means listening, serving, loving unconditionally and without a personal agenda. It is walking into a room and being open to encouraging others in that time and space. Jesus was a great example. His idea of "working a room" was not networking and smooth talking or manipulating situations or people for his own benefit. It was choosing to make sure each person walked out feeling better, thinking clearer and knowing God in a new way. It was adding value so that an individual felt touched by the encounter. Who are you encountering today? Are you adding value with each opportunity? Do people feel encourage, loved.... their burdens lighter.... their vision clearer after spending time with you? We can either add or detract in a relationship. Which factor are you? Can I encourage you today to think about how you are working the room or relationships in your life?
