I am in gratitude for the awareness of forgiveness. Many of us were conditioned from an early age to hold a grudge.. a "make'm pay" for what they did to you mentality. We go years holding on to issues that if we had just let go of and let God handle we would have had the opportunity to use that energy in a far better avenue. Do you treat each new day like you are in a courtroom. The courtroom of complaint. Convicting that person over and over again in your mind and out loud for anyone who will listen. Are you aware that judgement is God's job? To assume otherwise projects the belief that God can't do it. Often we hold onto it unforgiveness as a form of revenge. Who are you really hurting there? Yourself. Not only are you holding onto the bitterness of unforgiveness but you are being consumed or ate up everyday by the need for justice. That's a lose/lose proposition. How do you make it win/win? Let it go... and let God. Give it to the Universe as one of my friends would say and move on. Forgiveness is not saying the one who hurt you is right. It is simply declaring that God is faithful and just and will handle it..... only you can make the choice to let Him.
